Cottage

Birch View

Birch View Cottage is our charming honeymoon which overlook birch island and is right off Poplar Lake. It is also has its own deck and dock and it is well spaced from the other cabins for privacy. It has a queen bed,  full bath, full kitchen. This is a smaller cabin which will only accommodate two. It has no living room per se, however it has two easy chairs in the bedroom and it is the only cabin which does not have a fireplace. It does however have the fire pit and barbecue area right outside.

Beautiful cabins along the Gunflint Trail. It is about 30-45 minutes from the town, which makes it the perfect escape. We stayed at the Towering Pines cabin and it was clean and comfortable. Even the beds were comfortable, which is one of my top priorities when traveling. Beautiful fireplace and the cabin overlooks Poplar Lake. Couldn’t ask for a better spot to rejuvenate and relax.

They are dog friendly (big and small dogs!). The staff were very helpful and took the time to explain and provide information. The lodge is closed during the winter months, but told us they could possibly open a cabin if we wanted to stay. Perfect place for snowshoeing and a hiker’s dream. There are literally a hundred of miles of trails. We saw plenty of wildlife and enjoyed the fresh air. If I could give them 100 stars, I would.

I really like the Nor’wester Lodge up on the Gunflint Trail, Carl and Luana are really nice.  Clean cabins right on the edge of the Poplar lake.  It was quiet and relaxing, great place to have a campfire and sit around and joke and laugh.  Charlie the black lab was great to play with the tennis ball.  My brother brought his Vistabule camper and loved the lake side camping spot they got to stay in.
