Townhouse

Cedar 3

Cedar number three has been completely remodeled. Upstairs there are three queen beds, plus one king bed. (There are no beds at all on the main level.)

On the main level there is a full kitchen, which is configured more for adults, it has high stools at a counter as well as a game table with stools tucked under it. This is suited more for an adult audience rather than a child audience unless that child is an older pre-teen.

The living room in this unit is a spacious living/meeting area with a gas fire place. There is a large sliding glass door opening to the deck which is steps away from the water. Outside, just off the deck is a cast iron drum style charcoal grill.

Beautiful cabins along the Gunflint Trail. It is about 30-45 minutes from the town, which makes it the perfect escape. We stayed at the Towering Pines cabin and it was clean and comfortable. Even the beds were comfortable, which is one of my top priorities when traveling. Beautiful fireplace and the cabin overlooks Poplar Lake. Couldn’t ask for a better spot to rejuvenate and relax.

They are dog friendly (big and small dogs!). The staff were very helpful and took the time to explain and provide information. The lodge is closed during the winter months, but told us they could possibly open a cabin if we wanted to stay. Perfect place for snowshoeing and a hiker’s dream. There are literally a hundred of miles of trails. We saw plenty of wildlife and enjoyed the fresh air. If I could give them 100 stars, I would.

I really like the Nor’wester Lodge up on the Gunflint Trail, Carl and Luana are really nice.  Clean cabins right on the edge of the Poplar lake.  It was quiet and relaxing, great place to have a campfire and sit around and joke and laugh.  Charlie the black lab was great to play with the tennis ball.  My brother brought his Vistabule camper and loved the lake side camping spot they got to stay in.
