We've been welcoming guests to Nor'Wester for more than 70 years. Hosting memorable vacations on the legendary Gunflint Trail is our family tradition. Rustic warmth and old-fashioned hospitality go hand-in-hand with comfortable surroundings and modern conveniences. Choose from cozy cabins at the lakeshore (including spacious villas for larger groups), or lakeside camping and RV sites.Nestled in the trees they are named for, each of our secluded cabins on the shore of Poplar Lake is well spaced for privacy and completely equipped for light housekeeping. Our villas can accommodate larger families or groups and are located adjacent to our sand beach and play area. Lakeside RV sites come with electric and water hookups.

Everything you desire to make your vacation enjoyable can be found at Nor'Wester. Our gift shop offers a wide variety of unique gifts. You'll find groceries, ice, gas, and a laundromat just steps from our main lodge. We have a complete line of bait, tackle, and licenses. Canoes, boats, motors, paddleboats, sailboats, and a pontoon boat are available to entice you on to our crystalline glacial lake. Daily fishing reports and professional guide service are here to help our guests.Settle in and let our mallards welcome you by day, the haunting call of the loon serenade you at night.
